Energy Efficiency

Products that are good for our partners and our planet.

Built into every Western Window Systems moving glass wall is a belief that your design ideas, not energy or structural limitations, should determine the look of your project. That’s why our products address energy and structural requirements while promoting the thin profiles and large expanses of glass that have made Western Window Systems a centerpiece in so many residential and commercial projects.

Because our products are completely customizable, you can select or combine options that meet your project’s performance requirements.

Glass & Glazing

Insulating Glass

Western Window Systems products feature low-E, argon-filled, dual-pane glass, which blocks heat loss to the outside while reflecting heat back into a room. This helps to reduce heating and cooling costs.

Cardinal Glass

For a balance of solar control and high visibility, Western Window Systems’ Series 7600 Multi-Slide and Series 7950 Bi-Fold Door feature low-E, argon-filled dual-pane glass from Cardinal IG. Pre-applied Cardinal Preserve film protects glass through installation.

Energy Star

To receive ENERGY STAR certification, a product must meet a set of energy performance levels determined by the U.S. government. ENERGY STAR criteria varies in different areas of the country. Select products from Western Window Systems meet rigorous ENERGY STAR specifications. For more details, contact us.

Thermally Broken Aluminum

Many Western Window Systems door systems and windows are available with the option of thermally broken aluminum, which features an insulating barrier that increases energy performance.

Weatherstripping

Our door systems feature tight, durable seals that help control humidity and moisture and minimize air leakage.

Air, Water, and Structural Performance

Western Window Systems’ door systems and windows are subjected to air, water, and structural testing and are tested and certified by the NFRC (National Fenestration Research Council) and AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association).
