Although the official launch of Western Window Systems’ new Series 3600 Vinyl Multi-Slide Door was in January, its employees found time this week to celebrate the achievement as a team.

“Everyone did an excellent job bringing this product to market, but for many of our employees, it’s not always obvious how their hard work — or the efforts of those in other departments — helped the project come together,” says Chet Willis, Western Window Systems’ vice president of production sales and one of the vinyl door’s originators.

Along with the cake and card signing, a decorated conference room featuring an installed Series 3600 invited employees to view production and testing videos, explore marketing materials, and interact with pieces and parts of the door in various stages. A time-line of the project, stretching the length of a wall, included original CAD drawings, manufacturing photos, and fun facts such as how the door was built electronically several times to ensure tools and processes were in place.

“The timeline is a great way to showcase our path to success through our people,” says Willis. “And a little cake to celebrate never hurts.”

Available through the Volume Program, the Series 3600 is the company’s first vinyl door system. It features a low .30 U-value for enhanced energy efficiency, .20 SHGC, and cold-formed steel for structural strength. For more information, contact a Volume Program representative.
