Western Window Systems is partnering with Florida-based KB Home and Builder magazine on what is being touted as an innovative home design featuring products, systems, and ways of living that homeowners don’t even know they want yet.

KB Home ProjeKt: Where Tomorrow Lives currently is in development in the master-planned Inspirada community in Henderson, Nevada, near Las Vegas. The award-winning home is slated to be revealed at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in January 2019 and will be available for tours during the International Builders’ Show in February.

Looking to the future of home life in 2020 and 2050, the KB ProjeKt explores themes of sustainability, smart-home technology, flexible living space, wellness, and security. It features a mix of both imaginative advancements and today’s cutting-edge technology, such as a drone landing pad for package delivery, moveable walls from Western Window Systems, a water-recycling dishwasher, and a Tesla Powerwall battery. Approximately 1,000 people toured the KB ProjeKt home at the Greenbuild Conference, and it was awarded Top Project of the Year honors by Environmental Leader.

“We look at these investments and collaborative partnerships as a laboratory to develop ways to create more value for our new homeowners,” says KB Chairman and CEO Jeff Mezger. “Our entire organization will be looking at the innovation that we design into this Projekt, and we’ll very likely be populating many of our homes with the innovations soon after that. This is all about how we learn to keep giving KB homeowners what they need.”
