Jacob Blackburn

One of the core principals of Western Window Systems is innovation, so it stands to reason that those who stretch the limits of their imagination help make the company push its own boundaries of possibility.

Mechanical engineer Jacob Blackburn is one of those employees who strive to invent, innovate, and reimagine the company’s products.

“Jacob has done a great job finding innovative ways to improve his designs’ thermal performance,” says design engineering manager Richard Mazur. “When working with conflicting requirements such as thermal and structural performance, this can make a big difference in the sort of value we can provide to our customers.”

Jacob, who started with the company in March 2016, partners with people across a variety of disciplines, be they CAD, supply chain, IT, and manufacturing, and he does it seamlessly.

“Jacob gets along very well with all his peers and his superiors,” says Mazur. “Most of us feel like we’re working with a friend when working with Jacob. And though he knows how to joke around, he knows when to get serious.”

And among his many strong suits, one of his strongest is his ability to take both credit and blame in equal measure.

“He’s constantly improving himself, and he owns his errors completely and takes constructive criticism very well,” Mazur says. “This is not easy for most people.”

For Jacob, it’s all part of a job well done.

Congratulations to Jacob Blackburn, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month for February.
