Jeff Delay

Every team project has its peaks and valleys, with stretches of breezy accomplishment and periods of agonizing frustration. Everyone chips in at different times, but it’s often one person who pushes the project in the final stages.

In the IT department, that person recently has been senior programmer/analyst Jeff Delay.

“Jeff has had some challenging projects over the last three years, including barcode scanning, a major saw overhaul, and multiple major Paradigm overhauls,” says chief information officer John Engelstad. “He perseveres and sticks with it until we get the project over the finish line.”

And Jeff, who started with the company in October 2013, is flexible with his schedule and willing to work when the rest of us are off the clock.

“One of the dark sides of working in IT is that there often is work that cannot be done during business hours,” says Engelstad. “Jeff is always the first to volunteer to help on the weekends and in the evenings.”

Though one particular project isn’t necessarily recent, Engelstad points out Jeff’s vital role in getting it off the ground.

“Many folks may not know that Jeff was the key person responsible for the original marketing/sales tablets customized with the Western Window Systems brand,” the CIO says. “The foundation he built has led to hundreds of tablets being deployed in the last couple of years.”

In the core value of Partnership, Jeff exceeds expectations, whether it’s by lending a hand to solve a technical issue, teaching those around him in order to help them succeed, or training CustomView developers and the dealer support team.

Says Engelstad: “Jeff works closely with not only our internal employees but also our external partners, and he works to form relationships with them to ensure that they consistently go above and beyond to deliver their best for the company.”

Congratulations to Jeff Delay, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month for July.
