Rees Buchanan

With 20 years (and counting) at Western Window Systems, Rees Buchanan has taken on several roles — from shipping manager to positions in the production control office and service areas. In his most recent job as glass purchasing agent, Buchanan, as he’s done in the past, is making it his own.

“Rees is detail oriented,” says vice president of design and supply chain Cameron Wyatt. “He orders complex custom glass, a large amount of volume glass, and has a low error rate. He’s a great team member and will do whatever is needed.”

Buchanan was instrumental in the implementation of CustomView (the company’s online quoting system and ordering process) for glass ordering. And this year, he played a key role in the transition of buying insulated glass from All Weather Tempering as well as ensuring the accuracy of glass sizing during the conversion of the Series 700 Window Line to the Series 670.

Wyatt goes on to say that, in the core value of partnership, Buchanan is always there for his team.

“When Megan had her baby, he handled her workload,” Wyatt says. “He was happy for her, but I think he was even more excited when she returned!”

Congratulations to Rees Buchanan, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month for October.
