Jeff Delay

When it comes to the attitude you have at work, you can choose to be happy and optimistic or negative and critical. Jeff Delay, application analyst at Western Window Systems, is the former – and his positivity isn’t lost on his coworkers.

“There’s never a frown on his face and he always has some wise crack to deliver,” says creative director Jeff Kesar. “He spreads joy throughout the office.”

Chief information officer Justin Runyan adds that Delay, who came to the company in October 2013, has been instrumental in projects such as launching the Volume Program’s newest product in CustomView (the company’s online quoting system and ordering process) and partnering with outside software vendor Paradigm to create a landmark special order item for customers.

“He’s a big part of answering questions and fielding enhancements in the software,” says Runyan. “Jeff’s not afraid to get his hands dirty on a project and always finds a creative way to approach it.”

Delay also partnered with marketing on designing a customized tablet for production builders.

“It was new territory for all of us,” Kesar says. “Jeff was able to explain what could and couldn’t be done. And he found solutions under the pressure of a tight deadline.”

Runyan adds that Delay’s optimistic outlook affects those around him as well.

“Jeff has persevered through a lot of truly hard things in his life. The thing I like the most is that he’s able to make everyone around him enjoy life through laughter and positive conversation. You never see him in a bad mood.”

Congratulations to Jeff Delay, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month for September.
