Richard Gilliland

Sometimes it’s the behind-the-scenes work that goes unnoticed that is among the most important to any operation.

Such is the work performed by maintenance man Richard Gilliland, whose efforts keep the Western Window Systems shop running in peak condition. Take, for instance, his job ensuring the shop’s air compressors are fine-tuned and ready for action.

“This work goes unseen by most,” says maintenance manager Arlen Nagle. “But Richard maintains the air compressors every morning at the same time to make them run excellent.”

And with the huge new headquarters come even bigger responsibilities and challenges, like maintaining the huge building’s HVAC system.

“There are now 54 filters on the building to change,” Nagle says. “Rich now buys them, gets them to the roof, and changes them. Not an easy task!”

Beyond some of the nuts-and-bolts work that goes into his job, Richard, who has been with the company since January 2012, is known as a reliable, courteous, and respectful employee.

“Rich is a team player!” Nagle says. “He always treats everyone with respect and will help anyone on the WWS floor. Any task that Rich performs in the maintenance department makes this company a better place to work.”
