Eduardo Zatarain

As a member of the Special Western Action Team (SWAT), Eduardo Zatarain plays a vital role

in producing the highest quality products and supporting multiple departments in the shop.

Hired in July of 2018, Zatarain contributes his skills in myriad areas, from frames to panels. “Everybody knows that he believes in doing his job perfectly,” says assistant production manager Mike “Hollywood” Flores. “If he is in frames, the 900/9500 department, or panels, you know he will learn the job and do it right.”

Flores says he likes walking by Zatarain when he’s working because of his enthusiasm and energy. “He keeps tracks of everything he builds,” Flores says. “When I go by him, he proudly tells me, ‘Hollywood, so far I have built this many!’ I love it.”

The maxim ‘Work smarter, not harder’ is one Zatarain follows and brings with him to whatever department he’s helping. When the shop made improvements to the panels line, Zatarain looked for ways to take what he learned from that and apply it to other departments. “He is constantly looking for ways to make work better and get the most out of the product he uses,” Flores says. “Maximizing his time and equipment is just common sense to him. It’s not a struggle for him to get work done, he just does it.”

Zatarain’s so good at his job and helping his teammates that his coworkers started telling Flores he should be employee of the month. “You will never hear someone complain that he is working in their department. We know if he is in a department, he is there to work,” Flores says. “Wherever we need help, he goes. He makes sure he does not let the team down. He gets shit done.”

Congratulations, Eduardo Zatarain, on being Western Window Systems’ shop employee of the month on night shift for August!
