Rich Gilliland

From changing a light bulb to fixing a leaky faucet to patching drywall, Rich Gilliland makes sure things are kept in working order at Western Window Systems. And his ability to repair just about anything before it becomes a real issue has been crucial to the company’s success.

“Rich is one of the most under-rated employees in the company,” says creative director Jeff Kesar. “I have yet to see him take on a task he can’t find a solution for. He hits a home run every time.”

Gilliland started at the company around three years ago, working as a drywall temp for maintenance manager Arlen Nagle. Eventually, Nagle brought on Gilliland full time and gave him more responsibilities.

“He will do any job, solve any problem, and he gets along with everyone,” says Nagle. “Even after a shoulder surgery last year, Rich is more of a superman than ever.”

Nagle adds that Gilliland has also jumped in to help fix equipment on the manufacturing floor. But if you’re ever looking for him, Nagle jokes, look up.

“He always seems to be crawling around in a ceiling somewhere,” he says. “There’s a lot of stuff up there. We never know what he’s going to find.”

Congratulations to Rich Gilliland, Western Window Systems’ shop employee of the month for August.
