Corey Holland

Taking on a new role at work can be difficult, but when Corey Holland stepped in to head up Western Window Systems’ saw department while its team leader was out, he made it look easy.

“Corey has the ability to lead without authority,” says Dean Seger, vice president of manufacturing for Western Window Systems. “He shows respect to everyone he works with while providing direction and encouragement.”

Metal manager Tom Foster adds that Holland, who joined Western Window Systems in August 2013, is able to accomplish goals with minimal direction, and that he’s made the workflow process smoother by organizing carts and paperwork.

“I can always count on him to finish the job,” Foster says, “no matter how long it takes.”

Holland also gets praise for understanding expectations before he gets started on a task, and then delivering results in a professional manner.

“One of the traits of a good leader is that they jump in and help others,” says Seger. “Corey does this on a daily basis with our fantastic saw team.”

Congratulations to Corey Holland, Western Window Systems’ shop employee of the month for January.
