The first WWS Small Ball Arcade Basketball Tournament wrapped up at the night shift company gathering on October 1, with The Basket Cases defeating The Fadeaways and MVP Nixon Petit beating mystery baller Darth Fader 103-43.

A loud and spirited crowd of over a hundred employees gathered around to watch the fierce final heat in the bracket-style, best-of-three tournament.

The Basket Cases took early command with a 304-264 battering on The Fadeaways in game one, but The Fadeaways came back in game two to eke out a 287-286 win. The two teams fought to a tie (287) in game 3, but The Basket Cases brought their big shots in the deciding game 4 with a 319-292 victory.

Nixon Petit, Fredy Vargas, Stetson Allgood, and Rudy Luna were all on the championship team and won basketballs, custom jerseys, $100 gift cards, and Phoenix Suns tickets. Petit was named MVP for scoring the most points and won an additional $300 gift card for beating Fader. He scored 879 points throughout the tournament – a number Western Window Systems doubled in dollars for a charity donation to Phoenix Suns Charities for $1,758.

“It was one of the great experiences of my life and I’ll cherish it,” Petit said. “I’m still in awe knowing I’ve been with Western Window Systems for about three months and I won. I’m the champ!”
