A group of Western Window Systems volunteers recently lent a helping hand sprucing up the playground at Mesa Children’s Visitation Center.

Six employees from the marketing department put on their work clothes in late March to spend the morning painting numerous picnic tables and benches at the facility, where abused, neglected, and abandoned children in foster care can spend some supervised quality time with their birth parents and family members.

“I have never seen six people work harder and do more work than your team,” Mesa Children’s Visitation Center president Kaye McCarthy wrote in a letter to Western Window Systems. “We are very grateful, and I am thrilled with the quality of your work.”

Since opening in January 2003, Arizonans for Children, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs the visitation center, has served over 734,000 people in Maricopa County.
